Body of curly coated retriever puppies is slightly longer than tall and has a top line level (not tilted). Loin is short, strong and vigorous. Chest of these dogs is deep, reaching elbows, and has a visible sill. Flanks are slightly gathered.

Forelimbs of curly coated retriever are straight, muscled and oblique shoulders. Hind legs are also strong and muscular. Feet are round and compact, with well arched toes. Curly coated retriever puppies have a unique characteristic fur coat. Hair forms small, firm and tight curls, lying close to dog’s skin. This dog has inner mantle, and their coats must not show bald areas.
